
Loving Family Dental is seeking a Dental Hygienist to join our dedicated team of dental professionals in Fountain Hills, AZ! Our practice is committed to continuous and patient-oriented excellence and quality improvement. Because of our commitment to our patients, all positions within Loving Family Dental require that the team member arrive promptly on time; however, it also requires that the team member be flexible to accommodate occasional delays in the daily patient schedule, team meetings, and other responsibilities deemed necessary. The Dental Hygienist is responsible for working with the dentist to meet the oral health needs of patients. This person reflects professionalism and is a role model of quality and appearance. Qualifications
- Must hold a valid AZ Hygiene license
- Prior hands-on Hygienist experience is highly preferred
- Nitrous Oxide Sedation and Local Anesthetic certifications are ideal
- Familiarity with Dentrix is a plus
Responsibilities

- Is a representative of the office, modeling the values, beliefs, behavior, and communication embraced by Loving Family Dental
- Clinical Skills
- Perform treatment as indicated; address the patient’s dental hygiene needs
- Patient screening procedures such as assessment of oral health conditions, reviewing medical history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, monitoring vital signs as well as Epworth screening.
- Assist in sterilization
- Use an Intraoral camera on every patient
- Identify unacceptable oral problems; does not diagnose or present solutions
- Provide patient education on the problems and the consequences of those problems if left untreated
- Takes quality radiographs
- Applying preventive materials (e.g., placing sealants and applying fluoride)
- Taking quality impressions as necessary
- Ability to accurately chart existing restorations
- Ability to accurately chart treatment diagnosed and recommended by the dentist
- Comply with OSHA and use universal precautions at all times
- Effectively manage their schedule, alerting the front office to any changes and potential delays in the schedule
- Assists with sterilization processes and ensures consistent monitoring throughout the day
- Provides support to other hygiene team members during downtime, if applicable
- Compete daily responsibilities such as stocking rooms, hygiene trays, etc
- Any other tasks as assigned

- Greet and seat patients in a timely manner
- Build upon the existing relationship with the patient
- Provide comfortable treatment procedures
- Ability to create a positive rapport with each patient
- Have good communication skills. Speaks clearly and distinctly with patients, doctors, and other team members
- Ability to stay on time. Plans beyond the immediate requirements of the task at hand. Has the ability to anticipate what needs to happen next
- Documentation
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of all patient forms, charting, etc.
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the S.O.A.P method.
- Review the medical history of each patient
- Ability to give OHI
- Documentation for each specialty referral, procedure diagnosed, and/or types of procedure recommended
