Overview

 

Dietrich Orthodontics is seeking a Sterilization/Records Technician to join our team at our Alliance and Canton offices! The Sterilization/Records Technician will be responsible for keeping the clinical team flowing and the office clean and neat, paying special attention to all equipment and tools used with our patients. He/she will also take records and may be assigned additional duties regarding seeing patients. He/she will always represent the doctor in every conversation and interaction with patients and parents. He/she will ensure clean and excellent care through the quality environment provided by the doctor and team.

 

Sterilization

  • Adhere to our:
    • Office Policies
    • Centers for Disease Control (CDC) Guidelines
    • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Guidelines
  • Watch “If Saliva Were Red” video/CD: The Organization for Safety & Asepsis Procedures (OSAP)
  • Have a full understanding of cross-contamination
  • Have Proper Immunizations
  • Ensure that Instruments Are:
    • Sterilized: How/When
    • Set Up: How/When
    • Stored In Their Proper Place & Manner: How/When
  • See Patients: Proper Procedures
  • Clean Up Units After Patients: How/When
  • Set Up Units for Next Patient: How/When
  • Pour Models
  • Office Maintenance: Empty Trash, Tidy Bathrooms & Tooth Brushing Station
  • Sterilization Area Is Always Clean and Tidy
  • Stock Units (Mirrors, Gloves, Etc.)
  • Trim Models
  • Sterilization and Disinfectant Product Procedures/Techniques,/Maintenance are Followed
  • Storage
  • Shelf-Life Maintenance
  • Sterilization Device Maintenance

Records

  • Responsibilities:
    • Take Accurate Diagnostic Records that include X-rays—Panorex & Ceph—and intra-oral Photos—downloading, cropping, and printing
    • Impressions
    • Pour up models
    • Place separators as indicated
    • Lab Slips
    • Clean Up
    • Maintain Stock in the Records Area: Notify the proper person of supplies that need to be ordered
    • Maintain the equipment in the records room
    • Maintain the OSHA Safety Manual section specifically for radiography
    • Help with front office duties as time allows
    • Back up clinical assistants as time allows
