Key Responsibilities:

• Perform dental cleanings and oral health assessments.
• Take and interpret dental radiographs (knowledge of Nomad, Dexis, and Carestream CT Scan /Pano).
• Apply sealants and fluoride treatments.
• Educate patients on proper brushing, flossing, and oral hygiene techniques (tools and techniques for temporaries and implant restoration care).
• Document treatment plans and patient history (Dentrix).
• Assist the dentist during examinations when needed (including knowledge of basic assistant duties such as cementation and alginate impressions, etc.).
• Maintain sterilization protocols and hygiene equipment (also in charge of weekly spore testing and autoclave cleanliness).
• Administration of bleaching/ whitening services.
• Patient recall.

Qualifications:

• Active state license as a Dental Hygienist.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with dental software.
• Extra certifications are a plus (ability to anesthetize patient, etc.)
• CPR certification.
• Ability to administer Nitrous Oxide.
• Up to date with OSHA/HIPAA compliance.

Daily Duties (including but not limited to):

• Greet and seat patients on time in a friendly and cheerful manner.
• Review medical history and update charts.
• Perform thorough prophylaxis and perio charting, and chart existing restorations.
• Update X-rays when needed.
• Communicate findings clearly to the dentist.
• Recommend elective services/ products.
• Schedule the patient's next appointment before dismissal.
• Maintain operatory cleanliness and compliance.
