Orthodontic Assistant/Invisalign Coordinator

 

Rick Burns Orthodontics is adding to our clinical team. We are looking for a talented, passionate, and upbeat individual to focus on our patients' experience. Dr. Burns has been an orthodontist in the Elkhart/Middlebury area for over 30 years and a top provider of Invisalign treatment since 2018. He has mentored a wonderful team that our patients love! Compensation:

  • $25+ an hour based on experience
  • Higher pay rate possible with dental/orthodontic experience, expanded duties, and X-ray certification

Clinical Duties:

  • Submit Invisalign cases
  • Manage Invisalign patients
  • Manage the day - to - day operations of the orthodontic clinic
  • Review and check the offices for a neat, professional appearance and make necessary changes
  • Direct Dr. Burns and Dr. Fattal to the proper patients in the correct order of their appointment.
  • Maintain dental supplies by checking stock, anticipating future needs, and notifying the proper person if an item needs to be ordered
  • Ensure the operation of dental equipment by completing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting malfunctions, and calling for necessary approved repairs
  • Assist the doctors with patients' orthodontic care
  • Contribute to the orthodontic assistant team
  • Learn to perform all orthodontic procedures under the scope of orthodontic assistant capabilities

Patient Duties:

  • Make a difference in our patients' lives
  • Prepare the patient for orthodontic treatment by welcoming, seating, and draping the patient
  • Prepares procedure trays and instruments as prescribed for the correct procedure
  • Communicate to the patient and parents the current procedure for the day, plus future procedures. Answer their questions and requests
  • Check the patient for good oral hygiene and give instructions when needed
  • Educate patients and parents on the proper care for orthodontic appliances
  • Time Management and efficiency with your schedule and duties
  • Manage orthodontic appliances/Invisalign that need to be ordered and delivered
  • Take X-rays
  • Digital scanning and minimal impressions

Documentation of Records:

  • Document the services rendered accurately according to the treatment provided
  • Document charges for services rendered
  • Maintain the confidentiality and privacy of each patient
  • See that records are stored securely and handled in compliance with the HIPAA privacy procedures

Sterilization and Personal Protection:

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
  • Protect the patient and yourself by adhering to infection–control protocols

Office Participation:

  • Be an active participant in staff meetings
  • Perform tasks as assigned to make the office run efficiently
  • Promote the office and Rick Burns Orthodontics at the office and outside the office
  • Promote office contest and merchandise

Qualifications:

  • Dental Assisting experience
  • X-ray certified preferred
  • Excellent, professional interpersonal communication skills 
  • Bilingual is a plus, but not necessary
  • Computer skills
  • Excellent organizational skills to effectively handle multiple tasks and maintain a calm demeanor
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Work at both Elkhart and Middlebury
