Overview

Maryland Dental Specialty Group in Silver Spring, Maryland, is now accepting applications for a part-time Periodontist to join our team.

The ideal candidate will be dedicated to providing high-quality periodontal care and diagnosing and treating diseases of the gums and supporting structures of the teeth and mouth through a variety of procedures.

Responsibilities & Key Information:

  • Schedule: 1 day per week
  • Insurance-based practice with all equipment provided
  • Conduct thorough examinations to diagnose gum diseases and evaluate the patient's oral health
  • Develop personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient's specific needs
  • Perform non-surgical procedures such as scaling, root planning, and root surface debridement
  • Administer local anesthesia and provide pain management during surgical procedures
  • Perform surgical procedures, including gum grafting, pocket reduction surgery, and dental implant placement
  • Collaborate with other dental specialists and healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and provide instructions for post-treatment care

Requirements:

  • Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) or Dental Medicine (DMD) from an accredited dental school
  • Completion of a residency program specializing in Periodontics
  • Valid state dental license to practice as a Periodontist
  • Proven experience in diagnosing and treating various gum diseases
  • Proficiency in performing surgical procedures related to Periodontics
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Provide care to the community, including FFS, PPO, and Medicaid populations
  • Excellent attention to detail and manual dexterity
  • Knowledge of the latest developments and advancements in Periodontics
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Commitment to continuing education and professional development in the field of Periodontics
