Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Dental Assistant to join our growing team. This role requires X-ray certification and a strong foundation in chairside assisting. The ideal candidate is patient-focused, detail-oriented, and committed to clinical excellence.
This individual will support the dentist during procedures, ensure patient comfort, and contribute to a positive, efficient clinical environment. A strong team mindset, professionalism, and a desire for continuous growth are essential. This role also plays a key role in fostering a unified, well-trained team through knowledge sharing and leadership by example.

- Friday: 7:30 AM – 1:00 PM
- Office Hours:
- Monday: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Tuesday–Thursday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Contribution
- Model and uphold the core values of Loving Family Dental
- Act as a positive representative of the practice in behavior, communication, and professionalism
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to a collaborative culture
Clinical Skills
- Take high-quality radiographs
- Fabricate temporaries and take accurate impressions
- Assist chairside across a variety of procedures, anticipating doctor and team needs
- Place sealants and pack retraction cord (including proper use of Traxodent)
- Monitor and record vital signs
- Select shades and assist with crown adjustments
- Perform in-office whitening and fabricate whitening trays
- Maintain accurate and detailed charting of existing and recommended treatments
- Ensure compliance with OSHA standards and universal precautions
- Manage and communicate schedule flow, alerting the front office to delays or changes
- Maintain operatory readiness, including stocking and sterilization
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of dental materials and equipment, including CEREC systems
- Support team members proactively during downtime
Patient Experience
- Greet and seat patients promptly and professionally
- Provide a comfortable and positive clinical experience
- Build strong rapport and trust with patients
- Communicate clearly and effectively with patients and team members
- Maintain efficient workflow and anticipate next steps to stay on schedule
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain thorough and accurate patient records using the S.O.A.P. method
- Review and update medical histories with each patient
- Provide oral hygiene instructions (OHI) and post-operative instructions (POI)
- Ensure all lab cases and specifications are properly documented
- Accurately document referrals and treatment recommendations
Qualifications
- X-ray certification required
- 2+ years of chairside dental assisting experience preferred
- 2+ years of Dentrix experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of dental procedures, materials, and workflows
- Experience with CEREC technology is a plus
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment
