The Croc Doc Pediatric Dentistry for Kids is looking for a friendly, organized, dependable, and motivated Dental Scheduling Coordinator to join our team!

 

This position is primarily responsible for keeping our clinical schedule full and productive through proactive patient outreach, recall scheduling, filling cancellations, and managing future appointment availability.

 

The ideal candidate is comfortable spending a significant portion of the day on the phone, consistently following up with families, and taking ownership of the schedule.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Proactively contact patients to schedule:
    • Recall and continuing-care appointments
    • Unscheduled treatment
    • Overdue appointments
    • Openings created by cancellations or schedule changes
  • Maintain and actively work on the patient schedule
  • Focus on filling schedule gaps and maintaining strong appointment utilization
  • Maintain organized call lists and accurately document scheduling attempts and outcomes
  • Help fill last-minute cancellations
  • Maintain future schedules and work ahead rather than waiting until appointments are approaching
  • Coordinate with clinical assistants and other front-office team members regarding scheduling needs
  • Communicate professionally and clearly with parents and guardians

Work Schedule

  • Monday through Friday
  • 8:00 AM–4:00 PM
  • Full-time position

Cross-Training

 

Scheduling is the primary responsibility of this position.

The employee will also be cross-trained in other dental front-office functions so they can assist when needed, including:

  • Dental insurance verification
  • Patient check-in and check-out
  • Answering phones
  • Basic treatment plan and account questions
  • Other routine dental front-office duties

These responsibilities are secondary to the employee's primary scheduling role.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Fluent in English and Spanish (Bilingual)
  • Minimum 1 year of dental administrative/front-office experience
  • Strong telephone communication skills
  • Comfortable making a high volume of outbound calls
  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills
  • Ability to manage multiple scheduling priorities
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality
  • Professional communication with patients and families
  • Ability to work independently and remain productive without constant supervision

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with dental recall scheduling
  • Experience scheduling unscheduled treatment
  • Dental insurance verification experience
  • Pediatric dental office experience
  • Dentrix experience

Compensation

  • $15.00-16.00 per hour
  • Strong monthly performance bonus opportunities based on scheduling performance
  • Strong performers have the opportunity to earn substantially more than the base hourly rate

We are looking for someone proactive rather than reactive. The right candidate should be comfortable contacting families throughout the day, consistently updating scheduling lists, following up as needed, and taking responsibility for keeping the schedule productive.

 

Performance in this position is based on results, consistency, organization, follow-through, and effective communication with patients and families.

 

Bilingual fluency in English/Spanish and at least 1 year of administrative experience are required.
